International School of Physics

An International School of Physics has been held from February 16–24 in the vicinity of Moscow. The School was organized by MEPhI in collaboration with ITEP. The majority of the Organizing Committee members represented the Chair of the Experimental Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics: M.Danilov (chair), D.Besson, M.Vysotskiy, V.Novikov, P.Pakhlov, T. Uglov and others. Leading scientists, students and PhD students as well as young scientists from various cities of Russia (Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Yaroslavl, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, Protvino, Dubna, Samara, Moscow) and abroad (England, Germany, France, Slovenia, USA, China, etc.) took part in the School. There were a lot of MEPhI representatives among them. School lectures have been traditionally devoted to the most actual topics of the elementary particle physics and included a review on physics results from Large Hadron Collider and future colliders, physics beyond the Standard Model, cosmology and elementary particle physics, flavour physics, extra dimensions, Higgs boson physics, quarkonium physics, physics of the black holes and wormholes.

During the School young physicists had an opportunity to present their own results. The best theoretical and experimental talks were awarded by an especial diploma. The talk by Alexey Konovalov (Interdepatrment Laboratory of Experimental Physics, MEPhI) was honoured as the best experimental one.
